The work of Zuzanna Czebatul (born 1986 in Międzyrzecz, Poland) is defined by an exacting study of the complex interactions between power, ideology, and their cultural forms of expression. Her works address the largely concealed mechanisms that shape social realities and cultural identities, and challenge fundamental principles such as durability, creation, and stability, contrasting them with disintegration and fluidity. With references to Western mechanisms of political rule, Czebatul uncovers the lasting import of cultural narratives that are increasingly being instrumentalized by nationalist tendencies. In 2024, Zuzanna Czebatul participated in numerous national and international exhibitions, including Arcadia at the Bally Foundation in Lugano (CH), Park as Lover at Lantz’scher Skulpturenpark in Düsseldorf (DE) and Come Closer at the Middelheim Museum in Antwerp (BE). She was also named the 2024 Artist-in-Residence at Bad Wildbad Residency in Rothenburg (DE) and took part in the AlUla Research and Innovation Residency (KSA).
